Having weighed all the pros and cons, I came to the conclusion that home birth was right for me. My husband agreed, having worried at first about “what if suddenly.” I had no doubts at all. I am healthy, the pregnancy is proceeding normally, the fetus is developing without pathologies, so in an absolutely physiological process, no “what if suddenly” can happen. And I didn’t wind myself up with any fears, which is also important. Everything went pretty quickly and even fun, because I had a friend with her adult daughter visiting me – they came to celebrate the New Year and wanted to see me before the birth, which according to the calendar was scheduled for January 7. And it all started on the evening of December 30. At about four o’clock my water broke, and at 6:50 p.m. I gave birth. My hair was down. Decisions were made intuitively and quickly. Everyone understood each other without discussing. I gave birth standing up, holding on to my husband. There was a disposable diaper on the floor. No one fell out on the floor! The midwife delivered the baby. I chose the position of my body myself – based on how I felt, I just wanted it that way, as if I knew that it was necessary. I didn’t think about it in advance – I understood that my body would tell me everything. The baby was lightly wiped down – we didn’t try to wash everything off her. Everything was fine with the girl. The umbilical cord was not cut right away. But during the evening we watched how the little wrinkled lump was transformed right before our eyes! She "sucked" all the blood back through the umbilical cord, her face acquired a normal color, her skin evened out. And when the umbilical cord is cut right away, the baby takes much longer to take on this appearance - several days." When you learn about such a positive experience, you start thinking about your future. But don't rush. To make such an important decision, you need to weigh everything.

Yes, in most cases everything ends well, but no mom will want to be in the minority. The argument "before women in the fields gave birth, and nothing" here does not work, because the mortality of babies and even mothers was much higher.

Future parents often feel that if theyinvite an experienced midwife, this will insure them from trouble. And it's good if such a midwife with the necessary education, experience, qualification is found. About the license speech does not go, because in Russia home births are illegal. The right midwife will be able to determine in time when something is going wrong, and at least able to call up a rescue team.
