All parents love to take pictures of their children. Especially now, in our digital age. You can not limit yourself to 16 frames on a film, and multiply the images by hundreds of megabytes. Parents of little Mia Louden did so. And then, reviewing the photo, noticed: something is wrong with the left eye of the daughter. In one of the pictures it was clearly visible: in the middle of the pupil of the girl there is some white spot. It could have been attributed to flare from a flash, but also on other photos taken the next Christmas, there was also the same white spot. However, parents, perhaps, would not have noticed anything. But attentive relatives paid attention to the strange silvery disk in Mia's eye.Photo: dailymail.co.uk Then there was the most alarming bell: when Mia tried on the sunglasses given to her on the holiday, the girl had a real hysterics. And the parents finally realized: something is happening with the sight of the baby. She was only 15 months old at the time. "I asked the oculist to check Mia's vision during the next visit to the doctor," Melinda, the girl's mother, tells. - He checked, but did not find anything. To track the changes in Mia's vision, the doctor advised him to come back for a second check in half a year if her vision does not improve. After six months, when Mia turned 21, her parents again took her to a preventive appointment with the oculist. And this time the doctor found a giant retinoblastoma in the girl's eye. Let us explain, this is an aggressive form of eye cancer, when the tumor grows with incredible rapidity.Photo: dailymail.co.ukTut and it became clear why the sunglasses caused such a strange reaction - Mia was simply blind, wearing them. The girl needed urgent. The tumor has already grown so much that it took two-thirds of the eyeball. There was only one way out - the eye had to be removed. Otherwise, the metastases would go to the baby's brain. And then it would be too late to do anything. ... Two weeks later, Mia was already learning to see the world with one of her remaining eyes. The operation was successful: the doctors managed to remove the tumor so cleanly that the girl did not even need chemotherapy. Mia has been around for six years now. She is quite a happy and healthy girl. True, she has to wear an artificial eye made of acrylic, but this is almost imperceptible.Photo: dailymail.co.uk— I was worried about how she would communicate with her peers, whether this feature of hers would hinder Mia. But she copes well. True, sometimes she can crash into something if the object is on the "blind side", - says Melinda. Mia's mother still thanks fate for the fact that the photos were taken at such a timely and correct angle. After all, if not for these pictures, Mia could have died. - Trust your intuition. And if you feel that something is going wrong, do not be afraid to ask about it. Torment the doctors, ask the question again and again until you achieve final clarity, - advises Melinda.
