Why does it make you sick during pregnancy?

There are a number of reasons why a pregnant woman's health may change for the worse:

  • the production of the hormone progesterone for the preservation of the fetus;
  • problems with the digestive system;
  • weakening of the nervous and endocrine systems;
  • heredity.

With nausea and vomiting from the body of a pregnant womancome out harmful substances that could adversely affect the unborn child. Women with strong immunity and excellent health do not suffer from toxicosis. Their body can easily be reorganized to a new lad. When vomiting occurs up to 4-5 times a day, there is no cause for concern. If it is observed up to 10 times a day and is accompanied by a deterioration in well-being and an increase in temperature, the doctor may prescribe medication. In this case, hospitalization may also be required. When vomiting up to 20 times a day, only inpatient treatment is indicated.

Toxicosis at different times

Nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headaches -All these are signs of toxicosis, which usually torments a pregnant woman up to 12 weeks of pregnancy. In case of multiple pregnancies, unpleasant symptoms can bother up to 15-16 weeks. The body of the expectant mother adapts to foreign (daddy's) parts of the fetus, which is why nausea usually occurs in the early stages of pregnancy. Usually, women over 30 years of age suffer from severe attacks of nausea. In rare cases, toxicosis can last the entire second trimester. Nausea lasts until about 35 weeks. Unpleasant sensations can also appear in the third trimester. As the fetus grows, the pressure on the internal organs of the expectant mother increases. In this case, nausea is a reaction of the liver to compression. A dangerous signal is when, in addition to nausea, blood pressure increases, protein appears in the urine, and swelling appears. In this case, it is necessary to contact a medical institution and, if necessary, go to a hospital under the supervision of doctors. Nausea with late toxicosis in rare cases bothers in the 40th week of pregnancy. It can serve as a signal of the beginning of the opening of the uterus before contractions. It is imperative to tell the attending physician about toxicosis during routine examinations. He will help to understand why you constantly feel sick during pregnancy, and, if necessary, prescribe treatment.
