- high mobility of the thigh or knee;
- different length of legs in a baby;
- differences in the amplitude of joint movements;
- extra folds of skin on the hips with one or both sides.

What to do if a child has dysplasia
As mentioned above, it most often manifests itselfdysplasia in children under one year. Deviations from the norm are diagnosed during the initial examination in the maternity hospital or at a scheduled appointment with an orthopedist at 2-3 months. The doctor checks the location and mobility of the joints, and if there is a suspicion of abnormalities, sends the baby for additional examinations - ultrasound or radiography. Treatment of dysplasia includes methods such as:
- wide swaddling of the baby;
- use of orthopedic structures - "pillow", Pavlik's stirrups, Becker's panties, Vilensky's tire, etc .;
- physiotherapy;
- massage of the joint;
- physiotherapy - electrophoresis, heat treatment and other procedures.
Surgical treatment and reduction of jointsare used in cases of congenital dislocations and abnormalities that cannot be corrected by other means. If joint dysplasia is detected at an early age, there is every chance of completely eliminating the disorders. Therefore, if you suspect the slightest abnormalities in your baby, do not delay a visit to the orthopedist.See also:
