Why does cystitis occur during pregnancy?
Cystitis is caused by various reasons, especiallyAn infectious form of the disease, which is caused by bacteria, is often encountered. The main causative agent of bladder inflammation in this form is E. coli. The urethra in women is short and is located near the anus. Bacteria enter the genitourinary system due to failure to observe or improper observance of personal hygiene. Sexual intercourse also contributes to the entry of microbes into the body and the development of the inflammatory process. Non-infectious cystitis is much rarer, which is divided into allergic, medicinal, and thermal. The first form of the disease develops in the first trimester of pregnancy in women who are overly sensitive to the components of various food and cosmetic products. The medicinal form occurs due to irritation of the bladder mucosa by certain medications. The thermal form is caused by exposure to hot liquids on the mucosa or as a result of hypothermia.
