Why do you need a complex of articulatory exercises?
The baby learns to speak by looking at adults and trying to imitate them. But not all sounds are easy for him. In order to help him, you can do special exercises for the speech apparatus with him.Articulation exercises for children are the best way to get your baby talking. - language;
- cheek;
- lips;
- bridle.
All these organs participate in the pronunciation of sounds. If any organ works poorly, pronunciation remains unclear. In this case, exercise for the articulatory apparatus is needed.
From what age should articulation exercises be done?
If the baby has problems with pronunciation and in generalspeech, do not expect that he will grow up and everything will be corrected by itself. You can start classes even from 2 years old, but since at this age all children speak poorly, it is still difficult to understand - there are deviations in speech or not. In three- to four-year-old children, an experienced speech therapist will already be able to accurately determine whether there are violations and what kind. If you undertake to correct speech in elementary school, it will be more difficult to achieve a good result. At an earlier age, this will be easier, since the speech apparatus of children is only forming, and you just need to direct this development in the right direction.
How to do exercises with a child correctly
In order for the exercises not to be a burden and to give the desired result, you need to follow these rules:
- Classes should be fun and entertaining. Conduct them in a playful form.
- It is better to have an individual lesson with a child, not a group one. The kid should see what kind of example he is served by adults.
- Each lesson should include no more than 3 exercises.
- Explain the new exercise clearly, with a demonstration of movements.
Watch carefully how your baby performsexercises, correct him and praise him, even if at first he does not do very well. This will inspire him, and he will try even harder. The baby may not understand his mistakes, since he does not see his tongue, so you need to practice in front of a mirror. Then he will see what he is doing, compare it with the actions of his parents. This will make it easier for him to see his mistakes. At the beginning of the lessons, you need to explain 1-2 basic exercises, and add the rest gradually, but not more than 1 exercise per lesson. If difficulties arise with performing old exercises, wait with new ones. Let the baby get used to the previous ones and remember them.
A few examples of developing exercises
The exercises should be selected by a speech therapist, depending on which articulation skill needs to be improved. But there are also some basic exercises that will help everyone:
- Window. Use two words: cold and hot. If it's hot - open your mouth, if it's cold - close it.
- We brush the teeth. Ask the crumb to smile. Then show him how to clean his teeth with his tongue.
- Dough. Ask the baby to show the tip of the tongue. In this position, knead the tongue with your lips alternating with the teeth.
- Cup. Ask to smile and open the mouth. Show him how to make a cup, sharpening the tip of his tongue.
- The pipe. Ask to close the teeth and in this position to extend the lips with a tube.
To maintain your baby's interest, you cancome up with a fairy tale and accompany the lessons with games. If you want to teach your child to speak correctly, contact a speech therapist. He will select exercises that are suitable for your particular case, will give tasks that can be done at home, and generally guide the entire process.
