How to help your child love books?
Photo:Getty ImagesWhen choosing literature for a child over one and a half years old, you can already focus on his preferences. For example, if the baby likes transport, buy him a book about cars, trains. If the baby loves mice or colorful balls, try to make sure that they are present in the book. Noticing familiar objects or animals, the child will be more interested in listening and watching. For fidgets, it is better to have less text, preferably in verse, and more bright pictures with many details. Children are often restless, their attention quickly switches. I try to take this into account. And if I see that some book or even a spread has interested my daughter, I try to use this. We often stop reading and just look at the pictures, I comment on everything we see. Sometimes she points to characters or objects with her finger, and I explain who and what it is. It happens that I ask different questions myself, which I then answer for my daughter. If the baby wants to turn several pages at once, I read from a new place at once, I do not insist on sequence. At 1 year and 3 months, I clearly saw that she understands and recognizes a lot from pictures. She points to some of the things I ask her to. Before that, I sometimes doubted whether she remembered what she saw. I try to read expressively, sometimes almost by roles, changing intonation and voice, I try to attract her attention this way. Another technique to maintain interest in reading is to draw fairy tale characters together with your baby or mold them from plasticine. After reading, you can also listen to the audio version. Older children can be taken to a performance based on their favorite book. Today I will tell you about some books from our library that allow you to captivate your baby with texts and illustrations.
"My first book. The most beloved. From 6 months to 3 years. " Publishing house "White City".

Here you will not see long texts or poems, only laconic captions to the illustrations. A small minus - this is not a cardboard book, and, as we know, kids like to test the pages for strength and taste. Together with your baby, you can look at the illustrations of your favorite Russian fairy tales or study all the objects that your child uses in everyday life. One book contains so many interesting and different things that the baby will not get tired of it for a long time, and he will turn to it again and again. In a sense, this is an analogue of the now popular educational cards, but everything is collected in one place. We have not parted with the book for 8 months now and will continue to study it for a long time, because the child likes it. True, I have comments on the illustrations. The print quality is not the best, the colors are a little dull, some of the pictures are dark, which makes it difficult to see the details. In addition, some illustrations are clearly outdated. The same rotary phone will be difficult for a child to see and recognize in everyday life. And if these details are corrected during the re-release, the book will be ideal! Also interesting:
