What is Easter?

Easter recipeEaster recipePhoto:Monakhova VeraEaster is one of the main Easter dishes, along with and (painted eggs). In Church Slavonic, paskha is called "milk thickened", that is, cottage cheese. Although cottage cheese is not the only ingredient in this sweet dish, it also includes butter, sugar (or powdered sugar), cream or sour cream, raisins, yolks, as well as candied fruits, nuts and spices. Paskha has the shape of a truncated cone, symbolizing the Holy Sepulcher. The letters "ХВ" printed on the sides of the paskha mean the festive greeting "Christ is Risen!"
