Let's start with the fact that over the last 10-15 yearsThe "dorms" in the city have hardly changed. No, of course, they have Internet and even plastic windows, but the standards of accommodation are the same: two (if you're lucky), three or even four people live in a room. Bunk beds are also common, and the amenities are on the floor. Bathrooms are a separate topic. To be honest, we were sincerely pleased when the guys told us that many now have only a shower for 2-3 rooms, new renovations in the toilets, and the whole environment is more like home than "dorms". In the process of preparing the material, some students (especially first-year students) complained to us about the terrible living conditions. They say that before moving in, they and their parents had to do a lot of repairs in the room. And they even attached photos of those very rooms "before" and "after". But our journalists (who, by the way, also lived in the dorm) did not show pity, but, on the contrary, added in a stern voice that "everyone lived like this" and "nobody overworked". But when we were sent a photo of the new TPU dormitory (the building was built last year to relieve the student town, where about 6 thousand people live), and it even has a gym and a lift with a mirror, we realized that living conditions are really different for everyone. Or another example. Below are photos taken in TPU dormitory #15 (for foreign students). Living conditions there are also quite comfortable. The room has all the necessary furniture, there is an excellent bathroom that can be used by three people. The kitchen is equipped. "The dormitory is top notch!" - admitted Paola Delgado. By the way, we also found rooms, the design of which can be called author's without exaggeration and, by the way, very interesting! Indeed, bare walls can always be painted with bright colors or decorated with pictures! Take note! "And so our "dormitory" is a sectional one. The section includes 4 rooms (two double and two three-bed). There is also a shower, two sinks and a toilet. There is also a mirror in each section, which is very important for girls, - says Vera Kopteva, who lives in the dormitory of the medical college. - There is a large closet in the room, two tables (one for the kitchen and one for studying), beds, bedside tables, and shelves for books. There is a kitchen on each floor, and laundry rooms on two floors, each with three machines. We are also proud that we have study rooms on each floor, a tennis table on the third, and a TV on the fourth! In addition, we have Internet! " By the way, according to the latest data, about 22 thousand undergraduate and graduate students live in 38 dormitories of Tomsk universities. The provision of needy students with dormitories in Tomsk universities as a whole is 85.9 percent. Tomsk also has a unique project called "Parents are worried." It was organized by the Tourist Information Center with the support of the city's Department of Culture. Special excursions were held for parents of applicants to a number of Tomsk universities. The students themselves acted as tour guides. They showed the academic buildings, dormitories, canteens, and social infrastructure of the student campuses of their universities and secondary education institutions.
