Light in the kitchenLight in the kitchen« The kitchen should be lit"very good," explains designer Elena Sokolova. "If an ordinary room is illuminated at the rate of 30 W per square meter, then the kitchen is illuminated at the rate of 40-50 W per square meter. Only then will it be comfortable enough. In this way, you can visually enlarge even a tiny kitchen in a Khrushchev-era building. Based on this, plan the lighting zones. But it is worth considering that most often three of them should already be built into the kitchen set. So when choosing furniture, no matter what style it is made in, pay attention to this.

Five areas of illumination

1. The work surface of the tables must be illuminated. Therefore, the lighting under the upper cabinets is not even discussed. Let there be no other lamps, but they must be present here. Of course, this also applies to the hood; the lighting in it must be built-in to illuminate the stove. 2.  The upper lighting is, in fact, the main one. In some sets, there are also remote panels with lighting on the cabinets. But now it is not so fashionable, although it is convenient. It would be better to install overhead lighting above the cabinets.or take it out in the form of small lamps. They can be on flexible or movable brackets. Such lighting allows you to adjust the direction of the light flow. It is very convenient. 3. Backlighting in cabinets. In general, an optional element. But if there is one, the kitchen will only benefit from it. Firstly, it will become lighter, and secondly, in the cozy twilight, such lighting looks romantic and fabulous. Yes, and it is more convenient to look for lost little things in a lighted cabinet. 4. The bar counter, if there is one, must be lit. 5. The overhead, general light can be both directional and diffused. Its role can be played by either one chandelier, giving diffused but intense light, or several bright built-in lamps. The latter option is quite intrusive and is no longer popular. According to Western traditions, a chandelier must hang over the dining table. It is better if it is on a cord that will adjust the desired length. If it is high, the light will add solemnity, low intimacy. If it is impossible to hang a chandelier directly above the table, then sconces will do. They will help create a cozy atmosphere in the evening. Fix them at a height of about a meter from the tabletop. Important In the work area, choose a neutral spectrum of lamps so that the products do not look like food from a horror movie. At the dining table, the lighting should be soft. Diffused, careful light will create a favorable atmosphere for both weekdays and holidays.
