Delicious cheeseDelicious CheeseBarkham Blue Cheese, Boiledlovers Andy and Sandy Rose, won the main prize at the British Cheese Awards 2008, beating more than 900 competitors, including the country's most popular and largest dairy producers. Created using a special recipe, Barkham Blue took first place in several nominations at once: "Best Blue Cheese", "Best English Cheese" and "Absolute Champion". The cheese got its name from its place of production - the village of Barkham, located near the town of Wokingham (Berkshire). According to , the award received should help increase the popularity of their cheese and, of course, the number of orders for it. However, as the couple emphasize, this will not affect the quality of the product, which they will produce with the same love and care. "We will continue to create the product by hand. We are more proud of its quality than its quantity, " says Mrs Rose. "We'd rather continue to exist as a small business of artisans than start producing a mass product."
