Prevention of breast cancer: Oncologists fromThe University of Minnesota (USA) and McGill University in Montreal (Canada) conducted experiments on mice. The animals were divided into three groups: the first was fed without restrictions, the second was prescribed a periodic diet with a calorie restriction of 25%, mice from the third group were constantly on a strict diet. As a result, in the first group, 71% of mice became ill with breast cancer, diet - 35%, and in the group of periodic calorie restriction of food - only 9%. Such data caused the researchers surprise: after all, it was previously assumed that the jumps in caloric intake as a result of periodic diets only provoke tumor growth. Now, scientists have concluded that due to changes in certain hormones and lower insulin concentrations, a temporary diet is much more effective in preventing and protecting against cancers in the chest than constant fasting. Excessive overeating leads to a hormonal imbalance fraught with cancer, but starvation is not a panacea , say doctors. and improving the prognosis of treatment in cancer patients where maintaining normal body weight is more important. Periodic diets can reduce the activity of a growth factor for a chest tumor called IGF-1 and help control insulin levels in the blood, the doctors concluded.
