General rules

  • First of all, we stock up on seeds. When buying in a store, pay attention to the expiration date of the seeds. From several varieties, choose the one whose name contains the word "Early" or "Early ripening". For example, if regular dill becomes green in about 40 days, "early" will delight us with foliage in just 25 days.
  • We plant the seeds according to the instructions on the package.
  • The kitchen is ideal for a home "garden" - it is always warm and humid there.
  • Greenery needs bright sunlight, so in winter it is better to set up beds on southern windows, and in summer on eastern and western ones.
  • Each herb has its own pot, at the bottom– a layer of gravel or expanded clay, on top – purchased soil. Never use ordinary garden soil. It dries out quickly and may contain pathogens.
  • Greens do not like too wet soil - it is enough to water the pots with herbs once a week.
