It turned out that the secret to the performance of the most important human organ lies not so much in regular exercise as in a proper daily diet. Thus, nutrition consultant Susan Ofria from Gottlieb Memorial Hospital named the main products that should be included in your menu for the prevention of heart disease. In first place is dark chocolate with a cocoa content of at least 70%, which can be consumed not only in its "pristine" form, but also in its "natural" form. form, but also hot, as well as in the form of truffles, soufflés and other chocolate desserts with a high cocoa content, which is a good source of flavonoids that have a positive effect on the heart. Fish is no less useful, but not all of its types, namely salmon and tuna, which have a high content of omega-3 fatty acids and calcium. Third place in the list of "heart" oatmeal takes up the top spot: nutritionists recommend not only eating oatmeal for breakfast, but also adding oatmeal to bread and baked goods, as they are rich in soluble fiber, which helps balance blood sugar levels, as well as niacin (one of the B vitamins), folate, and potassium. Doctors also recommend eating more walnuts and almonds: they contain omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin E, magnesium, fiber, and mono- and polyunsaturated fats that are beneficial for the heart. And don't forget about berries: blueberries, lingonberries, raspberries, and strawberries are a generous source of beta-carotene, lutein, anthocyanins, ellagic and folate, vitamin C, potassium, and fiber.
