Preparing an omelet Tortilla, or omelettein SpanishMany have probably heard the fascinating name of the dish. Well, this is nothing more than a Spanish omelette. In a classic Spanish tortilla, the main ingredient, along with eggs, is fried potatoes. But since people's tastes (and even the Spaniards') are different, the Spaniards can add other products to a modern omelette: onions, sweet peppers, artichokes, garlic, ham. One thing remains unchanged: the tortilla must be cooked in good olive oil. But this dish can be served both hot and cold as an appetizer. In this case, the omelette is cut into small pieces. On the menu, the Spanish version of the omelette will be listed as "tortilla espacolo", and all other omelettes - "tortilla francesa", i.e. "French omelette". The traditional Spanish omelette was liked by the prim English and they made it the basis of their national omelette, adding some changes in the form of ham, green peppers and onions. And in the USA, a similar dish with the addition of cheese gained extraordinary popularity under the name "Denver omelette".
