Masha Tsigal Elle Decor:I haven't seen anything like this in a long time! It's amazing how organically you fit into your interior. It's not often that you can observe such a unity of the external and internal worlds! By the way, I was just rereading one of your interviews today. There was an interesting phrase there: "I've always liked everything girly: princesses, angels and fairies. My favorite designers since childhood were Jean-Paul Gaultier and Vivienne Westwood. And no Chanel." That explains a lot. Masha Tsigal: That doesn't explain anything. A lot has changed since that interview. I fell in love with Chanel and became much calmer about Gaultier and Westwood. And yet, the soft pink apartment suits you very well. However, the question arises: how do your men feel here - your son Senya and especially your husband Nikita? And how should he feel? Agree, there are not so many men who like to live in pink. It is no coincidence that my husband is Nikita Nagibin. We have a lot in common: our home, our tastes, our interests. Nikita and I chose paint colors together, painted the walls in the nursery, looked for furniture... We only had two arguments. The first was when we discussed the layout of the living room with round walls, which our designer Ariadna drew in response to the rounded wall of the house. Nikita believed that the circles took up a lot of useful space, but then he agreed that the apartment would look more interesting that way. The second argument arose when we bought the IPE Cavalli semicircular sofa. It fits perfectly into the concept of an oval living room, but it is not very comfortable to lie on and watch TV. We are thinking of solving this problem by buying some beautiful floor pillows. So you don’t agree that the apartment turned out to be very “girly”?I don't think so."Girly" is when there are lots of vignettes, little roses, gilded cupids, etc. There is nothing like that here. In my opinion, the Empire-Baroque apartments of our oligarchs look much more "girly". You can feel adequate in them only if everyone dresses in Venetian carnival costumes. Once every six months you release a new clothing collection. Do you not have the desire to update the interior with the same frequency? No. Firstly, I am happy with it. This interior is in harmony with my inner world. It is no coincidence, for example, that an oval living room and furniture of soft, streamlined shapes appeared in it. In life, I always try to avoid sharp corners. And secondly, anyone who has ever gone through a renovation is unlikely to want to go through this test again in the near future (with the exception of those people for whom renovation is a profession). Teach me how to survive a renovation. Do you have any recipes? None. Renovation is a completely spontaneous, uncontrolled story. In addition, at first we were very unlucky with the builders. Then, however, they were replaced by real professionals: themselves in smart overalls, the walls and floor in film, just like in the movies. With them, things immediately went smoothly. Which room do you like the most?I like them all. But especially the bathroom. This is my personal spa, where there are always fragrant aromas, pleasant music and burning candles. By the way, the bathtub itself is more like a mini-pool in size, where the whole family can climb at the same time. Thanks to which Senya learned to swim almost from the first days. By the way, how did you make it? Did you cast it on site or order it from the factory? You'd better ask the designer about that. Let's ask. Ariadna Shmandurova: The bowl was cast from concrete (right on site) and then decorated with mosaics. By the way, absolutely all surfaces here are tiled. I like to decorate small rooms "in one session", otherwise they turn out to be fragmented. What is it like to work with a client who is a friend? On the one hand, it was great. I knew better than anyone what she liked. For example, that the most important space for Masha is the bathroom, it is much more important to her than the kitchen. Or that Masha cannot live a day in white walls. Her comfortable living environment is cheerful, saturated colors. In this regard, our tastes coincided. For the past few years, I have been fascinated by the bright design of the 1960s. Before the apartment, I did several projects in this style. There is one "but". Even before the work began, I warned Masha that renovations are stressful and that conflicts are inevitable. And that is what happened, by the way. Several times we were on the verge of a quarrel. But, fortunately, everything ended well.
