How to Grow BonsaiBonsai has been around for over a thousand yearsyears ago in China, but it was in Japan that this method grew to the level of fine art. In Japanese, the word "bonsai" means not just a dwarf plant, but the culture of growing it on a tray, in a shallow pot, dish or on a pallet. For many centuries, the Japanese lived in a rich natural environment and in conditions of a continuous change of seasons, which developed in them a desire to reproduce native landscapes. In the 14th century, bonsai was a hobby of aristocrats, Buddhist monks and high-ranking samurai. A dwarf tree in bonsai is more than just a houseplant grown for the sake of beautiful leaves and flowers. The main part of the exhibition at the "Bonsai Center" is a collection of evergreen trees native to Southeast Asia, Europe and Japan. As well as specimens grown by Russian bonsai masters.
