Grout for bathroom tilesThere is no clear answer tothis question is not. Craftsmen working with tiles advised various types of grout - from the most expensive to the cheapest. The color of the grout suffers from sunlight and technical dirt. Usually, low-quality grout fades and becomes dirty in a year or two. Naturally, even the most beautiful tiles lose their appearance because of this. If you spend money on expensive grout (often it costs almost more than the tiles), then there will be a greater chance that it will not absorb dirt and will retain its color for a long time. In addition, high-quality grout does not absorb moisture, often have antifungal effects. Usually they contain the strongest dirt-repellent additives, which generally affect the price. You can buy cheaper grout. But then you will have to additionally buy a sealant or a special water-repellent coating. It will help preserve the color of the grout and add shine to the tile. IMPORTANT! Choose the right adhesive for your tileThere are a great many tile adhesives. Read the labels carefully to avoid making a mistake with your choice:
- universal - suitable for almost any tile;
- elastic glue that can even glue tiles to each other;
- adhesive for large format tiles - primarily floor tiles. It can be applied in a thick layer, and can even "work" as a filler, leveling the surface;
- glue for marble tiles, for porcelain stoneware, etc.
Whatever tile adhesive you buy, remember,that the wall you will be gluing to should not be perfectly smooth. It will be better if the wall is rough, but still smooth before gluing. Then the glue will have something to “stick to”, and the tile will hold for a long time. Below you will find a review
