It turned out nice and not at all dangerous oil lamps. Using garbage as an ornamental material is a trendy trend in the West, inspired by concern for nature and a difficult environmental situation. Environmentalists urge the gullible Americans and Europeans not to throw out old plastic bottles and light bulbs, because they pollute water, soil and the atmosphere at the same time. So overseas designers rushed to make furniture, decor, and even appliances from various household wastes. But, of course, the method itself was born far from yesterday and not because of the ecology fashion. Many of us use a thing that has already become obsolete because it is a simple necessity. How many times did you want to finally clear the balcony or the mezzanine from the rubble of old clothes, furniture and other items of sometimes unknown purpose? But the thought "What if it comes in handy" did not allow this to be done. So: we argue that it will come in handy for sure. Especially if you follow the example of designers and use their simple techniques.

Start simple

One of the most popular consumablesfor home design - plastic bottles. Cheap and multifunctional. The easiest way to use them is as disposable tableware: cut off the bottom, clean the edges so as not to cut yourself, and decorate the top with multi-colored threads or beads - whatever you don't mind. Put it on the table and use it as a vase for sweets, cookies and other small items. Moving on. After the bottles, you can take on transparent jars - plastic or glass, which are usually left over from coffee, mushrooms, store-bought cucumbers, and so on. and fill to the brim with the following mixture: raw white rice, pieces of colored paper, buttons, foil or beads. The ingredients may vary depending on what you need to throw out. A more expensive option is to fill the jar with coffee beans. But this is already an amateur and a specific interior. Old CDs can also be put to use. If the CD or DVD is scratched, or the files recorded on it are not particularly interesting to you, you can make a cup holder from the disk. To do this, you will need felt-tip pens (or gouache with glitter) and regular rhinestones (25 rubles per bag in any sewing store). Well, then only your imagination works. Such coasters are easy to store, they do not take up much space and will not swell from hot water. Just try not to paint the center of the disk where the cup will fit, otherwise the paint will quickly peel off and remain on your dishes.

More difficult

Unnecessary glasses can be turned into a framefor photos. If you want to put photos on the table, glasses are the perfect stand. The temples will hold them upright. To insert photos into them, lean the lenses against the cardboard and trace around them with a pencil to make a stencil. Cut out the stencil with a slightly smaller radius, taking into account the thickness of the frame. Next, cut out the desired fragment of the photo using the stencil and insert it from the inside of the glasses. If you cut out the photos well, they will fit tightly under the lenses themselves. If not, use small pieces of tape to attach them to the back of the temples and the crossbar. And turn on your artistic thinking: for example, cut out people's faces from two different photos so that they look at each other from the glasses. If you are tired of your old wall clock, you can update it with the help of a computer keyboard that has become unusable. The numbers are removed from the clock face (either stickers or a layer of paint), and the F1, F2, F3 keys and so on up to F12 are glued in their place. The keys are quite easy to remove from the keyboard with a screwdriver or a knife - just pry the plastic case hard enough, and it will remain in your hands. The author of the idea is designer Tiffany Tredgold (see photo gallery). Tin cans from beer or other drinks can be used as an original vase. To do this, an even number of cans - preferably 6 or 8 - need to be glued together so that they form a rectangle (the usual arrangement of cans in a package). This can be done with regular all-purpose glue, or by placing a special plate on top of the cans (see photo gallery). We cut the plate out of thin plastic with a cutter, using the same cans as a stencil. By itself, such a vase does not look very attractive, but if you insert one flower into each can, you will get real beauty. The author of the idea is the Atipik group of designers. Old bulky speakers from a Soviet-made record player can be turned into an original design element by covering them with colored fabric. The well-known checkered string bags are ideal. There is plenty of material: every third Russian probably has one of these “bags” lying around on their balcony. Not happy with the checkered color scheme? Then you can use old sheets, curtains, tablecloths - basically anything that pleases the eye. Just don’t forget to leave a hole for the speakers when covering them, otherwise your speakers will look like simple colored boxes. Also interesting: More on the topic:
