Dimensions
Any cabinet is a big Lego, where all the elementsare already set. Based on the size of the hangers and the clothes hanging on them, the depth of a standard closet is 60 centimeters. All the fittings, from shoe racks to drawer guides, are made within these parameters. There is a variation of 40 centimeters in depth with hangers facing us, but such models are less common.

Swing or sliding?
The cabinet should be perceived as a large accentelement, not just storage space. To save space, choose models with hinged doors, as they are thinner. The height of a sliding wardrobe is limited by the capabilities of the sliding door system and is often limited in height (otherwise they will start to walk and rattle), which is important with high ceilings. That is, a sliding wardrobe is more ergonomic only if there is nowhere to open the doors at all. Separately about cabinets to the ceiling. There are no special rules about what to store where. If you want to put away a sleigh, and not jam on the mezzanine in the kitchen, then who will stop you? A wardrobe is not necessarily rods-drawers-shelves
Wardrobe or dressing room?
If you have decided to arrange a dressing room, thenRemember that this is a room for storing clothes. And the room implies that you can, if not turn around, then at least go in. And in this room there are all the same closets. Without doors, but nevertheless. In its complexity of design, a dressing room is comparable to a bathroom and a kitchen, so it cannot be done as an afterthought. You need to consider the size of the hangers (60 cm) and the space to enter and turn around (at least a meter). If you do not store specific things at home, such as scuba gear or an inflatable boat, then in conditions of limited space it is better to give preference to a closet. Because a normal, well-planned closet is much more spacious and convenient to use than an incomprehensible storage room.
