1 From time immemorial, the birth of a child was considereda great sacrament. Midwives in Russia enjoyed a special honor, and not every woman could become a midwife: she must have impeccable health, her children should also be healthy, her thoughts should be clean. Even during pregnancy, midwives taught the future mother an old slander, which was read to children in the womb: "From you, my light, my droplet, I myself will take the whole trouble. My love is a dome to you, all is patience for a cradle, and prayer is consolation. I await you, my light, like the earth of the dawn, like the grass of the dew, like the flowers of rain. " The sound of these gentle words had a beneficial effect on both the baby and the mother, creating the right mood for the upcoming birth. Childbirth is the culmination of pregnancy and in most cases occurs as a normal physiological process. The future mother wants to know everything about the birth: to learn the signs of labor, the beginning of labor, the symptoms of labor and childbirth, when they begin, at what point it is necessary to hurry to the maternity home, how much labor is painful and how long they last. Each childbirth is an individual, and births take place in different ways, but the main signs of an early birth are experienced by almost all women in labor: the uterus contracts during labor; Smoothes out, the neck of the uterus becomes thinner, then it opens; the child turns and moves along the generic paths; you give birth to a child, then the placenta, umbilical cord and membranes. The whole process takes from several hours to a day (occasionally and more) and is the beginning of motherhood, and for the child - the transition to an autonomous existence. In this process, everything is important: the mechanism of the course of labor, the physiological characteristics, sensations and experiences of the mother, her psychological state. The onset of labor is not always clear, especially the signs of birth in primiparous mothers. Experts believe that the initiator of childbirth is the child. By the 40th week, and sometimes earlier, because of the rapid growth of the child, the number of amniotic fluid decreases, the baby is more difficult to move. The placenta has grown old, and the baby receives insufficient amounts of nutrients and oxygen. The child experiences very unpleasant sensations, it activates the adrenal cortex and releases a large amount of cortisol - a stress hormone. In response, the hormonal balance in the mother's body changes. As a result, the uterus becomes very sensitive to biologically active substances produced by the placenta and the pituitary gland of a woman. She begins to contract - there are regular contractions, followed by childbirth. In the organism of the future mother, there are also changes: the quantity of estrogen that prepares the uterus for childbirth increases, and as a consequence, the cervix shortens and softens, the uterus starts to decrease regularly.

Signs of the onset of labor

Pain in the lower back, sensations of increasing pressure in thegroin area is accompanied by a feeling of fatigue and heaviness. You can not find a comfortable pose for a long time. This pain is different from normal low back pain and can resemble premenstrual pain. This symptom may occur several days before the birth, often in combination with other symptoms. Frequent evacuation of the intestine can be mistaken for an ordinary disorder, but in this case it is caused by prostaglandins causing the emptying of the intestinal tract to release additional space for the child's movement down. Isolation of mucus with blood veins During the entire pregnancy, the cervix contains thick mucus that can be released at the end of pregnancy, when the cervix begins to thin and open. In rare cases, it may look like a mucous "plug", more often the mucus is more fluid and may contain blood veins. The appearance of blood can occur a few days before delivery, but it can happen after the onset of labor. At the end of pregnancy, there often appear spotting after a vaginal examination, as this procedure often causes some bleeding from the cervix. It is easy to make mistakes and take these allocations as a sign of childbirth. If this blood is pink or bright red and mixed with mucus - this is undoubtedly the harbinger of childbirth, after inspection - the blood is brownish. Progressive contractions of the uterus Contractions that become longer, stronger and more frequent, are the harbingers of labor. At the beginning of labor, contractions are usually felt as a pulling pain, giving off in the lower back. As childbirth progresses, contractions become painful. The contractions of the uterus shorten the muscle fibers of the uterus body, stretch the cervix and expel the fetus from the uterus. Fetal bladder dissection Fetal bladder dissection, also called amniotic fluid discharge, can occur before the onset of labor in 10-12% of cases. Then the intensifying fights begin shortly after the withdrawal of water or within a day. In most cases, the fetal bladder is not opened before the development of the birth process. When a bubble bursts, a sudden "cotton" can occur, accompanied by a flow of amniotic fluid, or a gradual, uncontrolled leakage of fluid can occur. The autopsy of the fetal bladder can be felt like urination. If you have run out of water before the start of the fights, note the time, color, smell and describe the amount of fluid (trickle or flow). Normally, the liquid is clean and practically odorless. The green color of amniotic fluid indicates the presence of meconium (original feces) in them, which can cause stress in the child and require urgent measures. Do not use tampons in this case to keep the flow. Urgently inform the doctor. Depending on your condition and the position of the child, the doctor will decide - to wait for regular fights or urgently stimulate childbirth. In some cases, if the child at the time of the outflow of water did not manage to block the exit from the cervix, the umbilical cord may fall out. At an early opening of a fetal bladder because of the danger of infection, you should not use the bathroom, it is better to take a shower. In severe battles, there is no increase in the risk of infection into the uterus, so the bath, if it is needed during childbirth, should be postponed until strong fights occur. We remind you that if you feel regular contractions (after 15-20 minutes lasting for 20-30 seconds), as well as in case of leakage or outflow of amniotic fluid, you should immediately go to bed and call an ambulance or go to the hospital yourself. In some cases, signs of so-called "imaginary childbirth" may appear: - spasms are irregular, their frequency and stress do not increase; - pain appears more in the abdomen than in the sacrum; - spasms disappear during walking or after a change in position; - Fetal movements intensify during spasm. Such contractions usually accompany the moment when the child enters the pelvic area. Remember: you should not be afraid that you will disturb the doctor or your relatives in vain. If you have signs of approaching delivery at any time of the day or night, you should go to the hospital. In this case, it is better to be safe. We advise you to read:
