Great and mighty wall of China
Attractions of China can presentonly one architectural structure - the Great Wall of China, known to adults and children around the world. It is a symbol of the greatness and power of Chinese civilization. Opinions about its length diverge, but, taking into account all the shafts leaving from it, in total the extent of this giant is up to six and a half thousand kilometers. It stretches from the Liaodong Bay, which is located on the north-eastern side of the capital, and passes through the whole of China to the Gobi Desert. The construction of the wall began in the 220's BC. This was done to protect the great empire from the invasion of nomadic peoples from the northwest. The construction dragged on for not one hundred years, and it was completed only during the reign of the Qing dynasty. It was a reliable protection - to penetrate the country, it was necessary to cross a special checkpoint, which did not function at night. There are legends that even the great emperor of China once waited until the morning to get back into the country. In general, the wall was built three times for more than two and a half thousand years. During the construction, millions of Chinese died, the remains of which were walled into the wall, and therefore this attraction is called the Chinese wall of weeping.
Terracotta army of all times
The Terracotta Army was discovered in 1974quite by accident when building a well. In total, there are seven to nine thousand terracotta soldiers. To create this army, more than seven hundred thousand sculptors and about forty years of age were needed. The figures are made of clay, then they were subjected to roasting, covered with a special composition and painted. Each warrior weighs about one hundred and thirty kilos, a horse - all two hundred. The army was created according to the project of Emperor Qin Shihuandi, who planned to gain victories in his afterlife, in which this army could help him. The presence of such sculptures speaks of the generosity and humanism of the emperor, as his predecessors preferred to bury the living soldiers with them. But we should take a look at the fact that, together with clay warriors, about seventy thousand workers, their families, several thousand concubines were buried alive. There is an army in certain tombs and is located in a battle formation at a distance of one and a half kilometer from the very tomb of the emperor. Each of the soldiers is not like the others and is a unique sculpture. They assume that they were sculpted from living people. Little known fact: this terracotta army was only part of a giant project for the construction of the imperial tomb. It turns out that under the earth there is a miniature China with rivers, palaces and mountains. It is from here that after his death the emperor continues to rule.
