It is known that the possibility of planningpregnancy interested people since ancient times. At the same time, great importance was given to one of the most important factors - the determination of the sexual characteristics of the future baby. This factor manifests directly at the time of conception and depends on the sperm that fertilized the egg. When a sperm is fertilized with a Y chromosome, a boy is born, and a girl with a X-chromosome. But centuries of observation argue that there are methods to conceive and give birth to a child of the desired sex. It is believed that it was thanks to such methods that long-awaited heirs of noble persons appeared. Is it a myth or a reality? Of course, not all of the known methods cause trust, but there are ways whose truthfulness is confirmed by years of statistical data. One of them is the planning of a child's sex by ovulation.
How it works?
The possibility of explaining the effectiveness of thisThe method appeared after scientists were able to conduct research on human spermatozoa. It turned out that not all spermatozoa are the same. Thus, the "male" Y-spermatozoa are significantly different from the "female" X. They are smaller in size, move much more actively, but at the same time have a low resistance to negative factors and a short life span. The method for determining the sex of a child by ovulation was developed in Poland by local doctors. It began to be widely used at the end of the twentieth century and at use showed a fairly stable percentage of accuracy of 87%. This technique is completely based on the indices of activity and longevity of spermatozoa. During sexual intercourse, while ovulation occurs or immediately after it, the more active "male" spermatozoa quickly reach the ovum and, accordingly, have more possibilities for fertilization. If the sexual intercourse occurs long before ovulation, then the Y-spermatozoa that have a short life span die and the chance appears in X-spermatozoa.
Features of the female body
Probability of conception of a girl during sexual intercoursea few days before ovulation is explained by the characteristics of the female body. The life time of the egg can be from 1 to 2 days. While waiting for this moment, spermatozoa should spend some time in the genital tract of a woman, where, depending on the onset of ovulation, the acidity of the medium changes. On the eve of the "birth" of the egg, the environment is more alkaline, which contributes to "male" spermatozoa. A few days before this point, the environment is highly acidic, which leads to the death of Y-spermatozoa. Only X-spermatozoa resistant to unfavorable factors remain, which reach the ovum. Adherents of the method of determining the sex of the child by ovulation also accept the view that the egg itself "chooses" the sperm necessary for itself, passing it through its shell. According to this theory, the planning of the sex of the baby should occur as follows: if the child wants to give birth to a woman, the woman must have sexual contact before the onset of ovulation, if she dreams of a girl, conception should occur immediately after her. It is impossible not to mention the statements of scientists who believe that the fertilization of the egg after 24 hours of her life is undesirable. In their opinion, the egg is susceptible to the aging process, and a child of any gender, conceived under similar conditions, can have birth defects. It is not excluded and the probability of miscarriages or premature birth.
Methods for measuring basal temperature
Whichever method is used, the main conditionfor its reliability - an extremely accurate definition of the time of onset of ovulation. Even today, the fulfillment of this condition in practice seems quite complicated. There is only one way to independently determine the time of onset of ovulation, which has some probability. It is based on the measurement of basal temperature. Basal is the temperature measured in the rectum at rest. As a rule, temperature fluctuations in a healthy woman indicate an increase in the release of progesterone, which occurs before the onset of ovulation. In order to have reliable data, it is necessary to draw up a special schedule, where daily measurements are recorded. When measuring basal temperature, you should follow certain rules:
After several measurement cyclesyou can make a picture of the processes in the female body, preceding ovulation. So, 2 weeks before this point, the temperature will fluctuate from 36.3 to 36.8 degrees. A sharp jump in temperature to a mark of 37 degrees and higher will indicate the release of the egg from the ovary - its "birth." This increased temperature will hold up to monthly, then again it will become normal. The absence of an increase in basal temperature or its fuzzy indications can indicate the absence of ovulation and, consequently, the presence of various kinds of diseases. It should be borne in mind that various factors can affect the indications: sleep less than 5 hours, taking medication, sexual intercourse before measurement, cold and poor health. It is not recommended to measure basal temperature when traveling to hot countries and sudden climate change. This will necessarily affect the reliability of the testimony. Carrying out the planning of the sex of the child by the method of onset of ovulation, all the above factors should be taken into account. A mistake in one day can lead to the opposite result, when instead of a long-awaited boy a girl will appear, and vice versa. More precisely, the onset of ovulation can be determined with the help of ultrasound. But such a study should be conducted every day for at least 10 days, which is quite difficult. When the follicle reaches the desired size and is ready to leave the ovary, it will be displayed on the screen. When planning the birth of a baby, you can use not only the method of ovulation, but also some others. In either case, the percentage of error probability is high enough. The main thing - to understand, is it important for you the sex of the baby? Is happiness from the birth of a little man to be overshadowed by his sex? A boy or girl is your own child, who, like no one else, will need care and love. And only you can make him happy.
