Why read in summer
Although at first glance it may seem thatSummer reading is a school whim. It is not. - Prepares a schoolboy for the perception of a heavier oneinformation. In grade 5, he will have more difficult subjects, an unprepared child will be given a hard time, so among the books you can find more complex works.
- Gives answers to questions. At the age of 10 years, the child has more difficult questions than before. His horizon becomes wider, and therefore curiosity is stronger. Literature will expand the outlook of the schoolboy.
- Promotes understanding of information. If after completing the reading of the stories, the child will analyze them, it will help him develop analytical skills that will be useful to him in high school.
- Continues to shape the child's inner world. Summer literature used to form the basic ideas about the world and its structure, in the literature intended for 10-year-old children, more complicated questions are raised.
By taking a few minutes during the summer, your child will be a better student and stand out from other children who did not do this during the summer.
Read speed requirements
Only one indicator changes, the rest remain unchanged:
- The speed of words per minute should increase from 85 to 100 per minute.
- Accents should be placed in the right places.
- The speech should be clear.
Check at home whether the reading speed is normal. If not, pay attention to it.

Reading at this age prepares the child for more complex studies in high school, and also contributes to his development and expansion of his horizons.
